MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Gov. Bob Riley has scored another win in the electronic bingo battle at the Alabama Supreme Court.
The court has refused to dismiss Riley's appeal of a judge's order that said the attorney general has authority to take over the Governor's Task Force on Illegal Gambling.
Attorneys for the White Hall Entertainment Center in Lowndes County had told the court that Riley's appeal was moot because Attorney General Troy King decided to take over the task force.
The Supreme Court disagreed unanimously.
The justices told both sides to file legal arguments over whether the task force needs prior approval from the attorney general. The argument from White Hall's side are due Friday.
Riley's response is due a week later.
