Tornado touchdown reported in Shelby County

ALABASTER, AL (AP) - Shelby County Emergency Management Agency reports a tornado has touched down in Alabaster.

Mindy Nash of the EMA says the touchdown was reported on Shelby County 17 and 1st Avenue in Alabaster near the Stoney Meadows subdivision.

Police are setting up a command center, but Nash says she did not know if there were any injuries.

A meteorologist with the National Weather Service says trees were down in the area and some roofs have been damaged.
