Greenville Elementary Teacher a Class Act

Greenville, AL (WSFA) - How much does Gayle Gafford love Greenville Elementary School?   It must be a lot.  She's taught third grade there for 22 years.   And she has noticed some changes in the last few decades.   "I learned a lot about teaching math, you just have to roll with whatever comes your way,"  Gafford said.  "The kids used to be in straight lines in the classroom and now they are in groups of 4 and 6 and they like it."

She has a real passion for learning, and it must be contagious.   "The kids are saying do we have to do PE, or can we do math?    I've never heard that before."

Even when these little ones leave her classroom, Ms. Gafford will always be thinking about them.    "I really enjoy, later on hearing the success stories.   I have a co-worker who teaches third grade here who I taught when he was in third grade."   She's been making a difference for more than 20 years at Greenville Elementary School and Ms. Gayle Gafford is a real "Class Act".
