MONTGOMERY, AL - Thunder Jam is bringing its one-night only drag racing thrill show to Alabama for the first time and promoters are promising the "the stars might actually fall on Alabama" Saturday, April 10 at Montgomery Motorsports Park.

Three flame-throwing jet vehicles will be on hand for the explosive debut along with a full field of five-second baby Pro Modifieds, the "Cool Bus" wheelstanding school bus and the areas best sportsman racers all on one action-packed night.

"We always love bringing Thunder Jam to new areas and Montgomery Motorsports Park is no different. MMP is known for its huge $1 Million dollar bracket races and other huge events and this will only add to the already action-packed schedule Jim Howard has planned for this season," said Jim Marchyshyn, Thunder Jam Operations Manager. "We are loading this event full of the best-of-the-best from our Thunder Jam menu and giving these fans a show they won't soon forget."

Headlining the event is the "X-Treme Machine" jet semi and two of the world's fastest jet dragsters as "Spirit of Alabama" takes on "White Lightning."

The "X-Treme Machine" is capable of producing 30-foot flames and earth-shaking passes thanks to a massive jet engine that creates well over 20,000 horsepower. The "X-Treme Machine" will be joined by "Spirit of Alabama" and "White Lightning."

The two dragsters will produce side-by-side "burn outs" with flames in excess of 20 feet and will go head-to-head in a 200 mph fire-propelled drag race to determine the true jet car "King of Alabama."

"Thunder Jam is known for being just plain loud, fast and exciting. Throw in an incredible fire display put on by these incredible machines and you have a night that is sure to please any motorsports fan," Marchyshyn said.

In addition to the fire-breathing mayhem will be a full field of five-second baby Pro Modifieds competing for the title of top doorslammer in Alabama. These machines will compete in a heads-up battle at nearly 200 mph.

"Door car racing is the heart of all Alabama drag racing and our cars represent the highest level of performance on much smaller racing tires creating a true test of driver versus machine," Marchyshyn said. "It promises to be an exciting race."

Add in the world's only wheelstanding school bus the "Cool Bus" and the areas best sportsman racers and you have an event that simply can't be missed promoters said.

Along with all the on-track action fans will also be invited to participate in the Thunderfest Pit Party prior to the start of the main event. Fans will be able to meet the stars of Thunder Jam, take pictures, get autographs and enjoy plenty of food.
