MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Customers to Montgomery Regional Airport are about to get an additional option in their traveling needs. American Eagle Airlines, the regional affiliate of American Airlines is adding a third daily non-stop flight. The new flights start started Tuesday.
The airline has been flying two daily non-stop flights to and from Dallas-Fort Worth since June 2009.
"We are very pleased to see American Eagle add this third flight within a year of the initial service to the Montgomery Regional Airport," said Lynn Cox, director of Marketing for the Montgomery Airport Authority. "It just proves that there is a big demand for the western gateway among the region's corporate and leisure travelers."
Cox say the two original flights consistently carry heavy loads, upwards of 75 percent capacity.
The third flight to/from Dallas-Fort Worth will be quick turn flight, meaning it arrives to drop off passengers coming in and returns to DFW within 20 minutes.
American Eagle last served Montgomery in November of 2000.
