Montgomery robbery turns to murder

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - An apparent robbery in Montgomery is now being investigated as the city's latest homicide.

There were two victims in Thursday morning's shooting, co-workers on the job renovating units at the Camelot Apartments just off McGhee Road. One of the victims was robbed. The other was shot and killed.

Investigators have yet to release the victims' names, but say one was inside when the suspect walked in the back door and robbed him. As the suspect went out the front door he ran into the second worker, said to be 41-years-old.

Investigators believe the men started struggling with each other and that's when the suspect pulled a gun and killed the man.

Montgomery Police detectives think the robbery and homicide were random acts and continue their search for the killer.

Officers could not provide specific details on the suspect other than he was wearing a blue hoodie. If you have any information that can help police solve this case, call CrimeStoppers at 215-STOP.
