AUBURN, AL – The Auburn baseball team welcomes defending national champion and current No. 3 LSU to Plainsman Park this weekend for a three-game SEC series. Game times are 7pm CT on Friday, 2pm on Saturday and 1pm on Sunday. Friday's game will air live on CSS while Saturday's will be shown live on SportsSouth and both will also be available on ESPN360.com.
The pitching matchups for Friday's and Sunday's games have been set while Auburn has yet to decide on a Saturday starter. LSU will throw So. LHP Chris Matulis (5-0, 2.57) on Saturday.
Auburn remains the top hitting club in the SEC with a .349 team batting average. That is the highest team batting average 30 games into a season for an Auburn club since the 1999 team was hitting an identical .349 in its first 30 games, going 27-3. Leading the offense are Jr. IF Hunter Morris (.403) and Jr. IF Justin Hargett (.391), which rank third and sixth, respectively, in the SEC in hitting.
LSU has won seven straight in the series dating back to the 2007 season when Auburn won two-of-three in Baton Rouge on Easter Weekend.
Auburn's last series win at Plainsman Park was in 1998.
