MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The victim of an apparent robbery turned homicide in Montgomery has been identified.

Nollie Hudgens, 41 years of age, died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Hudgens, an independent contractor for Camelot Apartments, and a co-worker were installing tile in one of the apartments.

The unidentified co-worker was robbed by a suspect armed with a handgun. As the suspect fled out the front door of the apartment, he was confronted by the victim.

Investigators believe the men started struggling with each other and that's when the suspect pulled a gun and killed Hudgens.

Montgomery Police detectives think the robbery and homicide were random acts and continue their search for the killer.

Officers could not provide specific details on the suspect other than he was wearing a blue hoodie. If you have any information that can help police solve this case, call CrimeStoppers at 215-STOP.
