MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The U.S. Census Bureau is behind a weekend blitz across the country.

From Washington, D.C., New York City and Montgomery, Alabama, volunteers are reaching out to people who haven't turned in their census forms.

Volunteers are handing out t-shirts, hats and other items to let people know it's still not too late to return their forms.

They're reaching out especially to minority communities which are often under-represented in the census.

May 1st, census workers will begin visiting the homes of those who have not turned in the forms.
