The Alabama State University football team has moved the start of its annual Black & Gold game from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Hornet Stadium.
The time change will allow participants in ASU's 16th annual President's Golf Classic the opportunity to enjoy both the golf outing and the Black & Gold Game.
The President's Golf Classic, a fundraising event for Alabama State University, tees off at 8 a.m. Saturday on the Senator Course of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Prattville.
Saturday's HornetFest activities will still be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the stadium. In addition, the ASU Baseball team hosts Savannah State at 1 p.m. from Paterson Field.
"We are thrilled to be a part of such an exciting weekend at Alabama State," said ASU head coach Reggie Barlow. "Hornet fans will have a lot of events to enjoy from the President's golf tournament to HornetFest to a baseball game and the Black & Gold game. It looks like it will be a fun-filled Saturday for all ASU supporters."
The Black & Gold game concludes the spring practice session for the Bama State football program. ASU opens the 2010 season Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. against Mississippi Valley State at Cramton Bowl.
