ABBEVILLE, AL (WSFA) - A 19-year-old man is under arrest after a bomb scare at the Abbeville City Hall Wednesday afternoon. The man's identity has not been released.

The Dothan Bomb Squad evacuated the government building and closed two blocks around the complex while they investigated a "suspicious device" left in the parking lot.

Evacuations included at least four homes and businesses surrounding the city hall.

The squad neutralized the device and used a robotic machine to load it into a vehicle. It will be transported to Dothan for use in an investigation.

Authorities say the scene around city hall will be clear and back to normal by approximately 10:00pm.

As for the suspect, charges are pending but the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms will have to determine the exact charges.
