Montgomery, AL (WSFA) The Governor's race on the minds of many right now, especially the Alabama New South Coalition. This weekend, the organization will decide which candidate to endorse in the democratic race for governor. The candidates are Congressman Artur Davis and Agricultural Commissioner Ron Sparks.
Many in the New South Coalition are questioning Davis' congressional vote against the President's health care bill. Congressman Davis responded saying,"The day has ended when these groups decide who wins the support of black voters in the state. The African American voters who will participate in the primary need no permission, and no sample ballots, to decide who they favor in this governor's race."
New South Coalition members will vote Saturday for their endorsement.
