MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Tuesday's announcement that the Montgomery Police Department arrested a 15-year-old in connection with last Friday's gas station robbery and shooting is being trumped by the arrest of another suspect, this one younger than the first.
Investigators took an unidentified 14-year-old male into custody Wednesday. The boy was interviewed and charged with Robbery 1st Degree.
The 15-year-old's charges are being updated to included Attempted Murder. He was already charged on the robbery count.
Police say the young boys walked into the Shell gas station on the Atlanta Highway just before 7pm Friday, pulled a gun and robbed the store.
Before walking out, store security video shows one of the suspects shooting a cooperating customer, who was lying on the floor, in the back. That victim was taken to a Montgomery hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries.
Both suspects are now being held at the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Facility.
