NWS: 6 tornado tracks in Ala., winds up to 150 mph

ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Forecasters say there were six different tornado tracks through north Alabama with winds up to 150 mph over the weekend.

Gov. Bob Riley was toured the damage by air on Monday as residents worked to clean up from the onslaught of severe weather that was linked to two deaths and dozens of injuries. An assessment by the National Weather Service showed that an EF-3 twister that hurt more than 30 people in Marshall and DeKalb counties Saturday night had peak winds of 140 mph. It was on the ground for about 18.5 miles and was three-quarters of a mile wide at its largest.

The weather service also confirmed tornado paths in Walker, Cullman, Blount, Jefferson and Lamar counties.
