DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) – With the economy down many business leaders in the wiregrass is working to better recruit new industry to their communities.
The energy company Powersouth was hosting an economic development seminar, where community leaders were learning how to bring new industry and create new jobs for their cities.
Participants said the program provided a number of new ways for them to improve their services in the community.
"As we look out across the country as the economy starts to recover and finding opportunities to bring new business and industry to our community and to create valuable jobs to our citizens," says Jeff Coleman, a participant at the seminar.
Job creation wasn't the only topic of the day there was also a strong emphasis on taking care of existing companies and preventing job loss.
