Prattville shooting investigation underway

Montgomery, AL (WSFA) – A community is in mourning after one Millbrook man is shot dead.

It happened last night in Prattville near downtown off Cosby Court. Authorities say that 39 year old James "AJ" Jones was arguing with several other males when he was shot in the head.

Jones was rushed to Baptist South Medical Center in Montgomery, where he later died. Prattville Police are looking for anyone who was involved, to bring them in for questioning.

People in the community are trying to make sense of the loss, and are unable to understand why someone would take the life of another.

Many say Jones was a friend and a regular visitor to the neighborhood. Anyone with any information please contact the Prattville Police Department
