State troopers seize 44 kilos of cocaine in Calhoun Co.

Calhoun County, AL - Alabama State Troopers seized 44 kilos of cocaine they discovered in the tractor of a commercial vehicle during a routine commercial vehicle inspection.

The tractor-trailer was stopped for inspection on Interstate 20 East at the 187 mile marker in Calhoun County. Troopers located the cocaine after receiving the driver's consent to search the vehicle.

The Calhoun County Drug Task Force is obtaining warrants to charge both the driver and his passenger with trafficking cocaine. Both subjects were taken to the Calhoun County Jail.

The tractor-trailer was found to be disabled and was towed to a Calhoun County impound lot.
