MONTGOMERY, AL - It's a big week for golf fans in the state of Alabama.
On Thursday, the LPGA's best golfers will tee off in Mobile. A day later, the Champions Tour competition begins in Hoover. The Bell Micro LPGA Classic and Regions Charity Classic will bring at least some of the golfing world's attention to Alabama and its Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in the same week.
Pro tournaments themselves are nothing new to the 11-site, 468-hole Trail. They just happen to be played on the same week this time, meaning a double-dose of economic paydirt for the state. Both events bring in millions of dollars to the local economy.
