Enterprise woman killed, teen injured in crash

LEVEL PLAINS, AL - An Enterprise woman was killed and a Daleville teen was injured in a crash this morning in Dale County.

Stacey Britt, 41, of Enterprise was fatally injured and Richard M. Bright, 16, of Daleville was injured in a two vehicle crash that occurred on U.S. 84 outside the Level Plains city limits.

The initial investigation indicates that Britt was traveling on County Road 445 when she approached the intersection of U.S. 84.

According to eye-witnesses, Britt failed to stop her 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier at the stop sign and pulled out into the path of the 1998 Dodge Ram truck that was traveling west on U.S. 84 driven by Bright.

Dale County Coroner Woody Hilboldt pronounced Britt dead at the scene and Bright was transported to Enterprise Medical Center where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Agencies assisting Troopers in the 7:45 a.m. crash were the Level Plains police department and the Enterprise fire and rescue.
