MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Montgomery Police say the suspect wanted in connection with Friday's shooting on Atlanta Highway is in custody.

Mario Cobb turned himself in to authorities Monday around 9:30am at police headquarters.

Cobb was interviewed and then charged with Attempted Murder.

The shooting started with an argument just before 7:30pm Friday at an apartment complex on Wareinghood Drive.

Witnesses on the scene told police Cobb and the victim, 18-year-old Richard Gibson, were arguing. Cobb allegedly followed Gibson to the parking lot where he pulled a gun and shot Gibson twice in the back.

Gibson was transported to Baptist South Medical Center in critical condition. He's since been upgraded to serious, but stable condition.

Cobb is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility under a $75,000 bond.
