Jubilee Cityfest starts Saturday with changes

Jubilee Cityfest is coming up and final preparations for the crowds are underway.  This year it is a little more complicated because Jubilee is now two weekends.

The first event is Saturday.  It kicks off with an 8K Run.  Later Saturday night there is the Front Porch at Old Alabama Town and Jubilee Brewfest at the Union Station Train Shed.  Jam-O-Rama will feature regional musical acts from 5:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

"It has it's challenges.  We need more volunteers as far as two weekends and that presents unique opportunities.  I think overall it's going to do well.  I'm sure we'll make a few little mistakes and we'll tighten up from the following year but right now we feel really really good about the event, " says Marianne McLeod of Jubilee Cityfest.

Changes were made to Jubilee this year after several years of lackluster crowds and revenues.  The traditional Memorial Day weekend festivities include concerts by Monica, John Michael Montgomery and Sean Kingston.
