Montgomery, AL (WSFA) - She's always on the move, and she hopes her students will be too down the road. Debra Adams teaches a career cluster class at Bellingrath Junior High School in Montgomery and she's this week's Class Act. "It's a family profession," Adams said. "I've been in education for 23 years."
A 7th grade student nominated her for the award. "She's helpful, she likes us to learn but also have fun at the same time," student Shaneka Stringer said. "My father told me 20 years ago, this is not a profession where you get paid a lot but when a child sees that light bulb go on, and they thank you, it's worth it," Adams said.
She wants to give these junior high school students a peak at some career opportunities down the road. "It's a lot of hands on work. They really get to do it, instead of learning in theory."
