MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Alabama Independent Drugstore Association announced their endorsement of Rep. Billy Beasley (D-Clayton) in the open seat Senate District 29 race.

"As a lifelong pharmacist, and long time member of AIDA, we know that Mr. Beasley will be a champion for our causes," Donald Ponquinette, 2010 AIDA President said. "Billy is the type of man we need in The Alabama Senate. He has served his district well as a legislator, and understands the complicated issues facing not just drugstore owners and pharmacists, but people across the economic spectrum."

First elected to House District 84 in 1998, Mr. Beasley has helped to build this organization into what it is today. He is a past recipient of The Bowl of Hygeia, the highest award you can receive as a pharmacist.

"I have worked with Mr. Beasley for years, and I know he is the best man for this job," Sharon Taylor, AIDA Executive Director said. "No one will work harder than Billy for this district."
