PACT Board cancels meeting

The new board of the Prepaid Affordable College Tuition plan canceled its first meeting because not enough members could make the inaugural gathering.

Lawmakers created the new board as a part of allocating  $548-million dollars to keep the financially troubled program afloat long enough to pay out the contracts in the system.

The 15-member board was scheduled to meet Wednesday, June 9.  Instead the meeting has been re-scheduled for June 16.
