Montgomery's Eastchase development made two significant economic announcements Tuesday.
The Watermark Residential company out of Indianapolis broke ground on 272 new luxury apartment homes. They'll be built in a wooded area across from Costco not far from Chantilly Parkway.
There will be 12, two and three story buildings, a clubhouse, garages, and swimming pool. The apartments will feature designer lighting, walk-in closets and other amenities. The new apartments are set to open next June.
And, just down the street, across from the Dillard's department store, city and business leaders broke ground on the new Earth Fare store. The location will be part of a chain of organic food supermarkets. The company's CEO, says his company has a philosophy of healthy eating.
Jack Murphy told WSFA.com, "We don't carry a single product with high fructose corn syrup." Murphy continued, "It's been absolutely scientifically proven to cause obesity."
The store should open next winter. A new Earth Fare store opens in Auburn in about two weeks.
