MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - As WSFA 12 News first reported Thursday night at 10:00, Montgomery Police say an officer has a severely sprained foot after an incident involving a WSFA 12 News reporter.

Our newsroom assigned Eileen Jones to a live report in our 6pm newscast from the Hyundai Boulevard fuel spill.  Around 5:40pm, our photographer saw Jones drive up to the scene. The officer stopped Jones in her personal vehicle. Police say Jones tried to drive forward and ran over part of the officer's foot.  Following that incident Jones was arrested.

Police tell us Jones faces a 3rd degree misdemeanor assault charge and a 3rd degree escape charge, which is a felony.
