Cause of Millbrook fitness center fire found

MILLBROOK AL (WSFA) - Less than 24 hours after firefighters arrived on the scene of a fitness center fire, the cause of the blaze is determined.

Crews worked for nearly an hour Monday evening to bring the blaze at Paradise Fitness under control. By 8:45pm, flames at the business just off the Deatsville Highway were out and an investigation was started.

The brunt of the damage happened in the office area of the building, which houses the center's tanning beds and pool house.  Investigators say an electrical problem in the attic sparked the fire.

No injuries were reported. Authorities have since turned the building back over to its owners.
