Notasulga man charged with slaying of daughter's ex-boyfriend

NOTASULGA, Ala. (AP) - A 40-year-old man is free on bond after being charged with murder in the shooting death of his daughter's former boyfriend.

Macon County Sheriff David Warren says Cecil Wade Meadows made his initial court appearance on Tuesday in the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Robert Joseph Holman II of Beauregard and was released on $50,000 bond.

Investigators say Holman was shot on Sunday and died at a Montgomery hospital.

Warren says investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a quarrel involving custody of the 11-month-old son of Holman and Meadows' daughter.

Holman and his father ran a flooring business in Opelika.
