Gov. Riley's office looking into Buffett ticket sales

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Tickets for the free Jimmy Buffett concert to be held on Alabama's coast to benefit those affected by the massive oil spill are being closely scrutinized by Governor Bob Riley's office.

The tickets, more than 35,000 in all, were gone within five minutes of their offering.

Now, Gov. Riley wants to know if scalpers are to blame for the rapid depletion of available stubs.

Riley's spokesman, Todd Stacy was insistent that the tickets benefit the Gulf Coast, not those who seek to make a profit off the highly sought-after venue.

The concert is set for July 1st in Gulf Shores. Buffett will be joined by Kenny Chesney, the Zac Brown Band and other artists.

CMT will carry the concert live on television.
