Joe Kines' daughter killed in accident

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - The daughter of former Alabama and Texas A&M defensive coordinator Joe Kines was killed in a two-car accident that resulted in seven others being taken to the hospital.

Tuscaloosa Police spokesman Brent Blankley said Monday that 43-year-old Susan Kines Langston died in the head-on collision that occurred at 11:14 a.m.

He said a Ford Explorer crossed the center line and hit the Buick Lacrosse driven by Langston. Two juvenile passengers in the sedan were taken to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment, along with the 18-year-old male driver of the SUV and four passengers.

Police didn't release names of the driver or passengers but said three were 18 years old and the fourth was a juvenile.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
