MONTGOMERY, AL – The Secretary of State, Beth Chapman, is asking for Alabamians to go out to the polls this July 13th and vote in the runoff elections.
Chapman wants citizens to know that the state has major runoffs on both the Republican and Democratic sides and by skipping this runoff you do not have a voice in who makes it to that election.
"Some people wait until the general election in November to cast their first vote of the season," Chapman says. "But if they do not vote now, they will not have a choice as to who will be on the November ballot."
To find out if you are registered to vote, where you vote or to view a sample ballot, go to www.alabamavotes.gov. For any questions in this matter, you can call 1-800-274-VOTE (8683).
