Dothan armed robbery suspect takes his own life to avoid capture

EUFAULA, AL (WSFA) - A man who was a suspect in a Dothan armed robbery reportedly shot and killed himself at a South Eufaula Avenue location, according to Eufaula Police Chief J.C. West.

Law enforcement personnel, which included the U.S. Marshals, reportedly attempted to apprehend the man after he was located at Classic Inn. He reportedly shot himself in the head near the Dug-Out (formerly Lynn's) and Snip-N-Barn.

West said the man is not believed to be from Eufaula and his body has yet to be identified.
