Greenetrack supporters plan Montgomery rally

EUTAW, Ala. (AP) — Supporters of Greenetrack in Eutaw are planning a rally in Montgomery on July 16 to protest the court order that allowed the shutdown of its electronic bingo machines.

Greenetrack's chief executive officer, Luther "Nat" Winn Jr., says the rally is planned for 11 a.m. at the Alabama Supreme Court building. Greenetrack plans to provide bus transportation from Eutaw.

The Governor's Task Force on Illegal Gambling seized electronic bingo machines from Greenetrack last week after the state Supreme Court struck down a ruling by a Greene County judge that had blocked the seizure.

Winn said Greenetrack had nearly 400 workers before the raid, and now is now down to about 25.
