Auburn Montgomery's Taylor Rd. entrance to close temporarily

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) – Auburn University at Montgomery is hoping to improve their campus by redesigning the main entrance to the school. The college is hoping that the new entrance will improve the flow of traffic entering and exiting campus, provide pedestrian safety and serve as a beautiful gateway to campus.

Due to construction, however, the Taylor Road entrance will close for several weeks.

With the main entrance to the campus being worked on, all traffic will have to go through Brown Springs Road, which is accessible from Taylor Road via Winton Blount Boulevard and Atlanta Highway.

There is no set date to begin the work but AUM plans to announce the as far in advance as possible. The hopeful start date will be soon after the runoff election, July 13.

The University would like to be done with the project before the school's summer graduation ceremony on July 31.

AUM will put detour signs up to direct traffic that attempts to access the entrance. Also, a switchboard operator will be available to assist drivers with directions. To reach the operator, call (334) 244-3000.
