25-year-old man arrested for double Ala. shooting

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A 25-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly shooting two people with a stolen shotgun and then leading police on a chase.

Jason Lesuer was arrested early Saturday northeast of Birmingham and charged with two counts of attempted murder. He was being held in the Jefferson County jail on bonds totaling $120,000.

Police allege that Lesuer called the mother of his children on Friday night and said, "I'm closer than you think." Authorities say he fired a shotgun blast that injured the woman and a man. The injuries were not life threatening.

Lesuer was arrested after a four-hour manhunt.
