MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Another great success here in the River Region for the 22nd Annual Sickle Cell Radiothon.
104.3 Hallelujah FM hosted the 12 hour event that promotes awareness for the disease and raises money.
Advocates say if more people become educated about the disease, more lives could be saved.
All proceeds will go to benefit The Greater Montgomery Sickle Cell Foundation to help them continue to give accurate information about sickle cell disease and related hemoglobinopathies, to provide testing and diagnostic services to interested persons, to counsel individuals with positive test results so they can make informed decisions about their lives and to provide supportive services for clients and their family members.
