One killed, three injured in Red Level crash

RED LEVEL, AL (WSFA) - Alabama State Troopers are working a fatal accident that happened in the early morning hours Monday. A Florida man is dead and three others were injured in that crash.

The accident happened at 2:20am on Alabama Highway 55 approximately one mile south of Red Level in Covington County.

Chad William Averitte, 21, of Niceville, FL. was pronounced dead on the scene after being partially ejected from his 2002 Isuzu Rodeo. Police say Averitte was traveling southbound when his SUV left the roadway and overturned.

Passengers Grace Reese, 20, of Niceville, FL, Jarred Robinson, 22, of Niceville, FL and Shana Clark, 23, of Atlanta, GA, were transported to Andalusia Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The circumstances surrounding the crash continue to be investigated by the Alabama State Troopers.
