Auburn gas main leak forces road closure

Posted by: Matthew Russell

AUBURN, AL (WSFA) - A gas leak that forced Auburn Police to close Glenn Avenue, stretching from Donahue Drive to College Street, is now contained.

The road closed at 11:00a.m. when emergency responders were informed of a damaged gas main. The leak was contained at 1:00p.m.

Reportedly, Donahue Drive is open but somewhat restricted, near the juncture of Glenn Avenue and Thomas Street, throughout the afternoon. Traffic and pedestrians are allowed on the road, however.

The Auburn Fire Division, Auburn Police Division, and Alagasco were first on the scene to repair the gas main.
