Prattville bridge to close for 8 months

PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) - Weather permitting, beginning Thursday, July 15 at 12 p.m., the Alabama Department of Transportation will close the bridge over Autauga Creek on State Route 206 in downtown Prattville for a planned bridge replacement.

The bridge will remain closed for the duration of the project. For the time being, two-way traffic will remain on Lower Kingston Road.

The bridge replacement is estimated to be completed by March 2011.

Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area.

For additional road closure information, visit www.dot.state.al.us.
