FLORENCE, Ala. (AP) - Tuscumbia's police chief's trial on a drunken driving charge has been delayed.
A municipal judge found Chief Tony Logan guilty of driving under the influence in March. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail and a 24-month suspension of his driver's license.
Logan appealed and was supposed to appear for his jury trial Tuesday, but the court decided to give the attorneys more time and pushed the court date back to Oct. 4.
Florence Police said Logan drove his vehicle through his and his neighbor's yards, smashed through a mail box and crashed into a ditch.
Officials said Logan's blood alcohol content was three times the legal limit afterwards.
