MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Changes are on the way for the Autauga and Elmore County school systems.

In Autauga County, there will be some proud folks in Marbury when school starts. The new Marbury High School will open for grades 9th-12th.

Also, Pine Level Elementary was converted to a K-5th grade school. Sixth graders from there are moving to Marbury Middle School, which is the old high school building. It will also be home to all 6th, 7th and 8th graders.

In Elmore County, school students can expect new completed classrooms at Redland Elementary.

New rooms are also being built at Eclectic Elementary, Holtville Elementary while a new gym is under construction at Wetumpka High School.

Additionally, all Elmore County high schools will revert to a 7-period a day system instead of the block system.

When school starts , this means that a student is required to take their courses for the whole year instead of being able to change it at some point.
