Children found in burning apartment, women charged

SELMA, AL (WSFA) - Police have arrested two women in connection to the discovery of children found neglected at the scene of a Selma house fire.

Jazeman Shameeka Blevins, age 23, and Angela Billingsley, age 25, are charged with child abuse, neglect, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Three children were found unsupervised inside a burning apartment at the Selma Square Apartment Complex at 12:30pm Monday.

The children were in distress and airlifted to a Birmingham hospital. All three children are currently in stable condition.

Blevins and Billingsley have a bond of $100,000 for the abuse and neglect charge, and a $1,000 bond for the endangerment charge.
