Montgomery to allow water on school buses

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Hot temperatures are calling for a slight relaxation in rules. Montgomery Public School students will be allowed to carry water on school buses during the current heat wave.

Officials are stressing only water will be allowed, no soft drinks or energy drinks and only plastic bottles may be brought onto buses.

Winn Dixie and Walmart stores have donated enough water for each bus to have a dozen bottles, however it is suggested students bring their own to ensure that there is enough to go around.

Students will be expected to remove their bottles as they exit the bus.

If anyone wishes to make donations of water, please contact Mike Cox at the MPS Transportation Department, (334) 284-2085.
