MONTGOMERY, AL - Orientation and registration for students enrolling for the fall semester at Alabama State University will be held Aug. 8-11.
Freshmen and transfer students will arrive on campus and get their first taste of life at ASU. Orientation activities will help students become familiar with University life, including residence halls, dining halls and registering for classes.
"New student orientation and registration are campus-wide productions. All entities of the University have plans to ensure that the transition to becoming a Hornet is informative, academically oriented, socially engaging and filled with that 'Ole 'Bama State Spirit," said Jessyca Darrington, ASU director of University Counseling Services. "We are anticipating 500 to 600 students to swarm our campus and surrounding community this week to become members of the Hornet Nation."
This will be the fourth and final orientation program this summer. Six hundred students and 300 parents and relatives attended three previous sessions.
Welcome Week activities begin Aug.12 and continue through Aug. 16.
