JASPER, Ala. (AP) - Alabama authorities have arrested a Jasper man who is a suspect in the shooting of two men at a car dealership.
Charles Lamont Williams, 30, was arrested in Birmingham after a daylong search by law enforcement agencies across Walker and Jefferson counties.
Authorities say Williams came to the L & S Auto dealership Saturday to test drive a red Cadillac. They say he then pulled out a gun and shot owner James Sherer and his friend Tommy Ferguson.
Walker County Sheriff John Mark Tirey said Williams fled on foot and stole a green truck from a nearby business. Williams is charged with attempted murder and assault.
