AUBURN, Ala. (WSFA) – Sunday, Auburn University hosted it's annual "Fan Day", giving players and coaches a chance to thank fans for their support.
The only thing more obvious than the Auburn spirit at fan day was the scorching afternoon sun.
"It's been so hot out here, but it's worth it," said Devin Wilson.
Wilson was the envy of the crowd. He was first in line, and he earned it.
"I got here around 9:00 this morning," he said.
After the long and hot wait, fans filed into the new Auburn Arena, for a chance to run elbows with their favorite players and coaches.
The soccer, volleyball, mens' and womens' basketball teams, even the cheerleaders and Aubie were there signing autographs and posing with fans.
But the big hit was Coach Gene Chizik and the football team.
Auburn Safety Zac Etheridge said, "We pulled up, and it kind of reminded us of Tiger Walk. It's been a good experience seeing all the fans out here."
Cindy Terry and her family are behind the famous "Tiger Walk" banner.
They brought the banner to get the last few signatures from the football team.
"This is what they touch. This is their good luck measure to let them know that fans are here. We don't want them to read those blogs. We want them to know that they have support win or lose."
And it's that kind of support players say makes Fan Day what it is.
They're hoping to make sure the team behind the team knows they're appreciated.
