MPS students get free Boys & Girls Club membership

MONTGOMERY, AL - Boys & Girls Clubs of Montgomery is offering free membership for any Montgomery Public School student ages 6-18. The student will just have to join and have a parent/guardian fill out BGCM membership application (two sheets) before August 27, 2010. 

BGCM has two sites: West End Boys & Girls Club 220 Crenshaw Street (263-3371) and Chisholm Boys & Girls Club 2612 Lower Wetumpka Rd. (265-2469). The clubs are open 3:00 -9:00 pm during the school year and 9:00 am -5:00 pm during the summer and holidays. BGCM is a after school program that offers Homework Help, Tutoring, Arts & Craft, Sports Fitness & Recreation, Character & Leadership and Health & Life Skills. 

BGCM wants to help the youth in the community as much as possible by raising grades and truancy issues at school. BGCM believes that once a student leaves school that he or she needs to be in a positive place and that's where Boys & Girls Clubs of Montgomery can make difference in a child's life in school and out of school.
