Alabama colleges listed among best in southern region

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Tuskegee, Faulkner, AUM and Concordia Colleges all scored prestigious rankings from the U.S. News & World Report's annual Best Regional Colleges survey.

All ranked in the Best Regional Colleges: South category, Tuskegee College was ranked the highest at #5 overall. Tuskegee was also recognized in the areas of campus ethnic diversity, economic diversity among top schools, freshmen retention rate, and percentage of international students.

Faulkner College was ranked #64 and it was recognized in the areas of campus ethnic diversity, economic diversity among top schools, freshmen retention rate, and percentage of international students as well.

Concordia College in Selma was ranked #69 and received special marks in ethnic diversity and percentage of international students.

AUM was ranked 74th. The university's strengths are said to be small classes, personal attention and a high level of interaction between students and faculty.
