MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Construction zones and traffic delays have become part of the daily drive for travelers in the Montgomery area.
The department of transportation began a massive project called Progress 65 years ago and now it's about to wrap up.
Progress 65 began back in 2007 and it has created a longer commute for drivers over the last three years.
Now the department of transportation is just months away from completing the project. The project includes adding lanes, and replacing aged and bumpy roads.
In the end, the department of transportation says the improvements will reduce congestions and create faster travel times.
Progress 65 is expected to be completed in the Fall, around Thanksgiving.
