MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Three hours after allegedly shooting a man in the chest, another man turned himself in to authorities in Covington County. The shooting happened at the WestHaven Meadow Housing Authority near Murphee Street in Andalusia.

Detectives say Terrell Curry shot a visitor in his home after something sparked a fight. Specifics on the motive were not immediately known.

The victim, 30-year-old Thomas Ridgeway, was able to drive himself to a nearby hospital where medics immediately transported him by helicopter to Baptist South Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. His condition is unknown at this hour.

The neighborhood is said to be normally quiet, but Friday's events have stunned residents. One woman said she was sitting on her couch when she heard a loud 'pop'. She said the shooting worried her because there are children in the area.

A SWAT team surrounded a home down the street a short time after the shooting, but no one was apprehended. Authorities say Curry was accompanied by his mother when he finally turned himself in later in the day.
